Apart from all the new features that have been incorporated in VISJET 2.0, our research team is currently working on some additional features for future versions. Your suggestions and comments are most welcome!

Realistic Simulation of Turbulent Jets and Plumes

The Lagrangian model JETLAG/VISJET gives the time-averaged path and concentration of a free turbulent buoyant jet for any combination of discharge and ambient conditions. Using particles and texture mapping techniques, we have developed a new method for enhancing the realistic visualization of simulated turbulent flows by combining VISJET predictions with the probability density distribution of instantaneous concentration. The following are the simulated images of two demonstration examples: I) a vertical momentum jet with no buoyancy; and ii) a buoyancy-dominated jet (plume).
